Padma Lakshmi is an American Indian model, actress and well known cookbook author. She is more popular as a cookbook author rather than actress. Padma was born on 1st September 1970 in Madras, India in a kerala Iyer family. She completed her graduation in B.A. honors in Theatre Arts from Clark University in 1992.
Padma Lakshmi was focused by media when she married with Indian novelist Salman Rushdie. Because Salman Rushdie is only 7 years younger than Padma’s father that made their marriage more highlighted by media. However their married life did not continue for a long time and they filed for divorce on 2nd July 2007.
Lakshmi began her career as a model at the age of 16. She has done modeling for all prominent designers such as Alberta Ferretti, Emanuel Ungaro and Ralph Lauren. She acted in Hollywood and bollywood movies. Padma Lakshmi was starred in “Glitter” film with Mariah Carey and in “Boom” with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. She has seen in several TV series such as Precious Cargo, Star Trek: Enterprise, The Ten Commandments and Top Chef.
